Coppicing

3.5.2014
A previously coppiced and regenerated sycamore tree

Coppicing
3 offshoots of sycamore (Pitch "Burn" in this case.)

Uses:-
1. Continued life of a tree, so it doesn't die of old age but regenerates from the roots.
2. Logs to cut and store for the following year for campers' campfires, etc.
3. Dead hedging for camp pitch boundaries.
4. Wildlife refuge.
5. Wind breaks.
6. More privacy/boundaries in some cases.
